I have a hauppauge HDPVR gaming edition 2 and use arcsoft Showbiz 3.5 to record xbox 360 gameplay. Does anyone know how to record in 720p instead of in 1080p? It doesn't have to use the Showbiz program. It can be any program. I just need to figure out how to record in 720p when my TV is 1080p.

Im pretty sure there's a tutorial on YouTube but i think if you set your screens resolution to 720p it will record in 720p

That's the problem. My TV when hooked up to my HDPVR won't go to 720p. It will only show 1080p. The overall problem is the file size. I would have no problem recording in 1080p if the file sizes weren't so big. But even still, I record in 1080p but upload in 720p.

There has to be a solution! try there website forums, that is probably the best place to find out! i used to have a pvr 2 but then sold it and got an elgato....

The elgato is so easy and simple to use! for me to setup the pvr 2 it took ages and it never worked half the time where as elgato took 5 mins and it has so many better feature with the software, the editing software is ok but if u have sony vegas its not a big deal...
