how to record consoles

where the fields are green and the air fresh
hi there people
i would love to make a series of zelda windwaker on my gamecube, the only problem is that i dont have a capture card and not the money to buy one (and ill buy a new PC first anyway). now i know there is some odd way to record it with a computer such as a laptop. but i have no idea how to do that. also if there is a way, the microphone of my laptop is busted so that cant be used to record commentary. also i dont trust my laptop one bit, its old, slow and shuts off from overheath or simply freezez because of a full register memory (which keeps comming back). so what if im in the middle of a record session and the thing suddenly shuts off.

hope you can give me some advice.

Buy a pvr of some sort personally I recommend the elgato game capture HD. The only other way is to download an emulator on your computer and then record the game using fraps or camtasia studio

ok, thank you

Good, non-HD capture cards only cost about fifty dollars. Capture cards also come with some sort of capture software that you can install on your computer to use with it. I would also recommend not using a laptop microphone. Instead, buy a headset. If the capture card of your choice doesn't split the video (as in, doesn't display visuals on your computer and tv at the same time), then you might also want to buy some A/V splitters as well. You will either need two or three depending on your tv. The best thing to do when choosing your capture card is to take note of the requirements and compare them to your computer's specs.

The only problem with this is that Jochem would need a pretty strong computer for the emulator. He would have to find the .iso file for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, which he may or may not be able to find. Lastly, he would have to find a place to download the Gamecube Bios files for the emulator to run the game. On top of that, extra memory to run a desktop recorder.

It takes very little computer power to run an emulator especially for a game like that and those files are extremely easy to find.
