how to make simple animations?

hi there.

i am looking for a progressbar loading animation in the style of crysis (that good looking game).
the problem is that almost no1 has replied, so i tried it myslef... with no luck, now i have in mind to make it as a flipnote like animation, because i can photoshop quite alright and just make a lot of pictures and play them as frames. now this will take a lot of time so i wondered if any of you know some good 2D animation software. i prefer free but if payed i might as well just use a trial. the problem i have is that i dont have any kind of drawing tablet, and none of those software i tried can make a simple straight line perfectly -_-.

so, long story short: do you know any free or payed 2D animation software?

I might be able to create something. But if you can provide images I need to animate it saves me some time.

Hmm perhaps Motion ($49.99)? But I know it works better with Final Cut Pro X, which is expensive.
