how to make my thumbnails pop? image dimensions?

ok so i see people's youtube thumbnails pop with big text over an image but mine never fits the part right.. its always small text or far back... i heard its a certain dimension to get it right? is that true?

so that 2pac one in your sig is those dimensions in photoshop?? 300 ppi as well?

yea man its 1920 x 1080 and 244 resolution i think. its just full HD quality. make big texts and its fine. thumbnail itself is way smaller anyways on videos its just makin what u want to be seen big so it would look good when its small.

This exactly. It's all about scaling, and keeping your text in proportion. Should be fine if you follow the advice given in the thread so far.

I use Jasc Paintshop Pro, which is a pretty good Windows-based image-editing suite (basic, mind, but does the job).

Hmmmmm this is an interesting question, I've never really thought about it. I usually just make mine different from other people's as opposed to making it pop.
