Alright guys, so this is my first guide
You are going to need 2 things for this: A program called Mine-imator, and the free Paint.net.
Getting Started
Alright, so the first thing you are going to want to do is upload the skin file of all of the character skins you want in your thumbnail into Mine-imator's "Skins" folder. The great thing about Mine-imator is that all of the blocks in minecraft and most of the mobs are already programmed in.
The Next Step
What you want to do next is to actually open up mine-imator and chose"add character(i believe that is it)". It will then bring up the skins folder, and chose the skins that you want in the thumbnail. The next part is going to be tricky to explain
! There will be a sort of action bar in the bottom left stretching to about 3/4 of the bottom. The 1st bar in it will say Character 1. You need to click the bar right next to "Character 1", and a dot of any color will show up. Now, for that time frame you are locked onto character one until you make/click on a new dot.
Final Mine-imator step
Finally! Direct your attention to the top right of the screen. There will be a minecraft character will all body parts highlighted. Select only the body part you want to move("select" means have it in yellow), and then look to the middle right of the screen. There will be options such as "Rotation" and "Position". PLAY AROUND WITH THE OPTIONS!!!!!! Once you have a character in a position you like for your thumbnail, click away from the characters colored dot, on the middle right hand of the screen select background. Find "Show Ground(I believe this is what is says)", and the unselect it. Save the result as a screenshot, and head on over to paint!
What you do now:
My best advice for Paint.net to get a better thumbnail is to play around with it. Add a new layer to the file you imported, and add a design or a gradial(I use gradials!)
Hope you enjoyed this guide! Please comment your thoughts or if you need help!
