Hm I also don't heard of twitch. But I often use Livestream.com. There I could sign up and then I can stream after I create my account. At that time I signed up I got the Livestream ProCaster. This I downloaded and then I could start the livestream from my PC without visiting the website. There I also can change the settings for streaming, resolution and so on. I also can record the screen and can save the recordings. So I can take this and make my videos for YouTube, for example when I streamed a drawing or sthg. like that.

With Twitch you need xsplit but once you get partnered you can livestream on YT. Those are the two best options in my opinion

Yeah that's cool, but I don't like that YouTube add the video after the livestream to your videos ;( I always want to edit my videos before uploading.
