Well, you don't 'hastag' in YouTube.

Tagging is basically grouping content which includes said tag. So websites have meta tags so they show up in search engines when a person uses that keyword (tag) Hashtags is using this symbol it originated on IRC but Twitter popularised it as a way to categorise tweets into keywords and based their trending section on it.

on YouTube we are lucky to live in a place where hashtags mean nothing internally. So when you tag your video it doesn't mean #tag1 #tag2 #tag3 on Youtube we tag with tag1, tag2, tag3 and youtube individualises them automatically when you hit ,

Hashtags are used places where the content is simple and short and easy to throw around like Twitter, Facebook, instagram, etc. It is all the same Tag, Tagging, Metatagging, Hashtagging.

I really should write a book on this. -

Hashtag is for twitter and instagram and just recently facebook. It is placed at the beginning of a word,
As for youtube when adding tags to you video you just separate words or phrases by adding a comma between each word or phrase
 
For Youtube you just type in the word or phrase and then hit enter and it will seperate it automatically in the the tag field. Make sure your tags are relelvant to what you're making. People get annoyed if they're looking for something and your video pops up with nothing to do with what they've searched for.

luke I asked another question...what tags should i put first related to Video or related to my channel...you could do a kindle instead of a book BTW
