How to grow your audience-first plant them in some soil, than water them
-Thanks sam97richards for that great line!
I thought I would give some tips on growing your audience. Now I know my channel is new and small but I feel I have made a lot of growth in a short amount of time. And I studied marketing in college. Some of these examples will be geared towards gamers since that’s what my channel is about.
Today I am going to mainly talk about interacting with your audience. I think this is over looked by many tubers.
Think of your viewers as customers. Think of your audience as a potential customer, now say you owned a small store and a customer came in and said nice store! Would you just ignore them? NO! The same with people who comment on your videos. If someone says “Hey nice video”, reply to them with a simple “Thanks!” that will go a long way and keep them coming back. The same goes with questions, if someone asks you a question and you don’t know the answer don’t ignore them! FIND THE ANSWER. Go out of your way to help that person and usually they will be grateful.
Make them feel good! Make your audience feel like they are a part of something. Everyone wants to be included in the fun so make them feel like they are. For example right now I am running a contest but in order for it to start the channel needs to get 200 subs. When I talk about this I don’t say “I” need 200 subscribers or help “me” I say “we” need 200 subscribers and help “us” This little thing makes them feel a part of the channel and when they share the channel it is helping them out too J
Let them decide! If someone comments on your video and gives you a suggestion for your next video and you choose to use it, take a screen shot of the comment and overlay it on the video when you decide to use their suggestion along with saying their name. This little thing makes everyone feel special and they will actively comment on your videos in the future.
The main goal here is making your audience feel good and want to come back. If you leave your viewers feeling good they will share your channel, maybe not right away but they will, even if it’s only a simple “hey check this guy out he’s pretty cool!”. If you don’t interact with your viewers and you act just like every other youtuber out there no one will share your channel! Why? Because they won’t remember you why would they? You didn't even say thank you!
Sorry for any grammar mistakes or formatting errors I am writing this at work so shh h don't tell them
