Hi,

I've just started my first gameplay channel. I created 2 videos and uploaded them.

I don't want to share them on my facebook page or twitter or anything else that is connected to my real life.

I want to keep my youtube gameplay separate under my alias.

Now as you can imagine this creates a small issue because no one can see my videos. I cannot share them anywhere :))))

I created a blog and I share them on the blog, but the blog has no audience now :)

I will continue creating and publishing content until organic search can find me but if any of you experienced guys and girls, can share some tips I would appreciate that!

Thanks!

Interesting topic, one that requires some thought indeed. One thing i've come to learn is that your YouTube will eventually crossover into your real life, you will gain fans and followers and you will start to embrace the fact that your a content creator. You shouldn't hide it away from the world because it's a really great thing to do, the best thing I did for my channel was to tell my family and friends about it.

Well, it'd be the same as advertising any channel really. Just make a new account for everything under the same alias, and boom. You're done. Not much to be said here. That and making your videos SEO friendly will help tremendously.

I hope it becomes part of my life but I prefer keeping it under an alias for now.

The main reason is that with every video I also release a part of the story I am writing.

When I am anonymous I can write free everything that comes to my mind but if I know that my friends and family might read the story I would automatically censor it and it'll loose a lot.

PS: I don't mean censor the swear words but the action itself.

Thanks for your suggestion. I already made all kind of accounts under my alias but I have no friends and followers yet :)

I tried to use google adwords and facebook ads but because it is not under my real name all my ads where blocked ))) I've send them some emails but I guess I'll receive the replies after the new years.

That requires a different tutorial entirely ;) Basically, the jist is making content that is SUPER searchable. Like tutorials, reviews, informational, etc. Just have to make sure your Title, Description, Tags, etc. are all done well. Eventually you will get a good bit of views without really advertising yourself.

Though to be honest, you should advertise yourself either way. Nobody gets far on YouTube without it.

Cool. I've got it! Thanks!

You'll want to post on/join forums relevant to what you're doing. Check the rules but a lot of them allow you to post links to your channel and videos in a dedicated section. Also, get to know other people in the forum who are starting out in the same area as you. I would never have got past 20 subs if I hadn't networked with a couple of other smaller channels when i first started.

Thanks for your advice! It makes sense! Can you recommend some forums? I know you can't post links here, but if you just write the names I'll google them.

Thanks!

Well I am a minecraft creator so I went to LP sections of the Minecraft Forum to start with.
There are other potential places though: Planetminecraft, yogscast forums, voteable/minecraft.

Try those for starters. I'll try and check out your channel too if I get a chance this evening.

Good luck!
