I will admit this will not be the best guide on youtube but i can assure you it will help.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So the first thing is the things you should do and the things you shouldn't do.

The things you should do -
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Create an audience, for example post on threads get other peoples opinion on your channel .

Try to be friendly to other youtubers and they will do the same, ask them to Box for Box, i mean whats the harm in that ?

Link your channel with twitter and facebook this is a great way to get your videos noticed if you have a lot of friends on there.

If you do commentary on your videos, try to be happy and enjoy what your doing, i have seen peoples videos that are dipresing because of the way they are talking, and did not catch my attention.

Make your channel stand out from the crowd, like a good background, have good content on your channel, something that people enjoy and will be entertained.

Upload regallery, the last thing you want is to lose subscribers, so you will have to be comited to recording to keep your subscribers and grow you audience.

You can add contacts this is a great way to grow your channel .

If you have thumbnails for your videos try to make them stand out, such as bright colors that make me want to click your video.

Apply for gaming network partnerships if you get in, you will unlock partnership features such as a youtube banner this will make your channel stand out from all the others.

Quality is key to a good channel, if you want to grow on youtube you might have to buy some software's to make your content the best it can be.

Use annotations in your videos this can help you get more views if you have a series on your channel.

Record games that are ''fun" for people to watch aka minecraft or dayz. You get the point..

Use good tags some that will stand out, use all the posibiltys for your video, aka if you are doing a lets play,
"lets play'' ''Lets Play'' "Let's play" And so on..
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thats it for the things you should do.

Now lets move to the things you should NOT do .
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The things you should Not do -

Never Sub4Sub if people suspect that you have sub4subed then they will avoid your videos and your channel and you may even lose subcribers !

Never spam people ! You can add contacts but never spam them messages they will not appreciate it, and you wouldn't if some one did it to you.

Do not go on "Big Youtubers videos" and spam links to your channel this will not look good for your channel, people may visit your channel by doing this, but it make you seem desperate for attention.

Tags are a great way to get your video noticed, but don't put inappropriate tags just put the one that describe your channel.

Don't upload laggy content, '' Bad Videos '' This will not look good on your channel and people don't want to see laggy videos when they can look else were.

If you do commentary try not to sewer to much '' Family Friendly '' content is good so you can expand to a wider range on people.

Try to avoid having a long intro about 10 seconds is a good time for an intro the last thing i want when watching a video is waiting 40 secs for the video to start.

Don't abuse the thumbnails, do not put inappropriate pictures on them.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thats it guys for the do and donts for youtube, if this guide helped you leave a comment on how you did, and let other people know !

Have fun guys !

Welcome to the forum!

I can definitely add a couple of tips.

- Tags and an eye-catching thumbnail are two of THE most important things on acquiring new viewers. However make sure that your content reflects your thumbnail and tags or you could quickly lose them.

- Once you've got some new viewers, ensure that you keep them with regular uploads with constant quality. There's no point having one video filmed in 1080p and the next filmed off the equivalent of a potato. The Google algorithm also rewards regular uploaders with higher search engine rankings, so try and release one video a week/fortnight, but make sure it's on the same day. (If you start releasing on a Friday, release all your videos on a Friday). There is a reason why the largest YouTubers have a set day to release their content.

- You have about 15 seconds to grab someone's attention on YouTube. Those suggested videos down the side are VERY tempting to a bored viewer, so make sure you hook them in early and give them a reason to stay until the end of the video.

- Don't monetise your content. It sounds stupid, but monetising your content for the sake of $0.10 - $10 a week (depending on viewer numbers) is a very risky move. You leave yourself open to clickbomb attacks and your viewers will probably be more likely to stick around rather than watch your instream advertising. Just remember that you only get one Adsense account, and you don't want to lose it as you're growing.

- Collaborate. Always collaborate. The more you get your name out there, the better. There is nothing wrong with having your face on other people's channels. The more videos you have linking back to your channel page, the higher in the search rankings you will be. Not only that, you can get the opportunity to work with some amazing people and share ideas to come up with videos you may not have thought about before.

- Don't join a network for the sake of being on a network. Be careful that some networks will ask you to agree to ridiculous terms and conditions. These are legally binding contracts and you can't get out of them by simply saying please! Be sure that you read through the whole contract and understand everything that is being asked and required of you. They may promise you a constant CPM, but that doesn't mean anything if their CPM is a lot lower than what you would be earning as a YouTube partner.

- Promote your content however you can. Go to gatherings, join Facebook pages, ask people in games if you could record them for your YouTube channel (then send a message with your channel name). Small things like that, there is always a new way to get your content out there.

- Read the creators playbook! So many tips are available in that book, just remember that there is no guarantee that you will get big on YouTube - however you have so many tools at your disposal, so use a few of the above tips and try find something that works for you.

If you need any help or advice, ask :)

These are good tips but this particular tip should be moved to the thing you should not do section "Apply for gaming network partnerships if you get in, you will unlock partnership features such as a youtube banner this will make your channel stand out from all the others."

Applying if you meet the requirements is great but the majority of people reading this list won't meet the requirements. The last thing you want to do is waste your time and the network staffs time.
