Hi Guys, I wanted to list a few points on how to create a logo/avatar for your channel or any other needs! Lets Begin!
Firstly, you need to design what sort of logo you are going to be creating. There are five main types of logos, these are:
Brandmark
Brandmark logos are logos without text, just symbols. These types are logos are useful when you have built up an audience, whom will notice your logo without any text needed.
Some companies who use this type of logo are; Apple, Nike etc.
Wordmark
Now, companies who are massive don't always use brandmark. Many use wordmark, which is where they spell out there companies name in a unique style whether this may be the colour or font.
Some companies who use this type of logo are; Facebook, Sony, Google.
Lettermark
Lettermark, similar to wordmark, is also quite widely used. This type of logo doesn't spell out the word, it uses the initials to create their logo.
This is useful if you have a long and complex brand name, or if you prefer a simple logo.
Some companies who use this type of logo are; IBM, HP, Honda.
Combination Mark
This type of logo is my personal favourite, along with emblem, as the title may suggest it is a combination of brandmark and word/lettermark.
The reason I prefer this sort of logo is because you can easily create a very unique and good looking logo.
The YTTalk logo is a combination mark as it has the video camera, and text!
Some companies who use this type of logo are; Logitech, Burger King, Dominoes Pizza.
Emblem
These sorts of logos, as the title suggests, are emblems which can look pretty awesome!
They could include both text and image in an emblem form factor or just a image!
Some companies who use this type of logo are; Lamborghini, Lexus, McFly.
I hope this has helped you choose what different type of logo/avatar you will use, if wanted I could show the actual design process!
