How to come up your OWN video ideas

This is very general, and I personally think that I don't need to really talk about this just because other people have made threads like this but I'm making it because I can understand that it's a bit stressful trying to think of your own ideas for a video that will get your desired views and stuff. So in this graceful thread I will try to help you guys come up with your own video ideas.

Categories are important, don't go into unknown territory

Some popular categories for videos are the following: tutorials, gaming, music, vlogs, events and comedy (I know there's more but these are generally popular). You have to choose a category that you enjoy and that you know well about. You can't make vlogs if you don't know what a vlog is right? You can't make a music video if you can't sing right? So to get ideas you need to first be confident that you know what your doing and you know what ideas you can do for your category. Try to make videos that are not common but are also exciting and worth watching!

Don't blend with the crowd, be different

Don't make videos that everyone does, that's just illogical! Seriously if you make a tutorial on how to make like a paper airplane I'm pretty sure there are like thousands of videos on that already so your not doing anything new. I mentioned this in the last paragraph but make videos that people have never seen before or are at least different and new to them. If you make a video that doesn't even appeal to yourself then chances are other people won't like it as much as you think so just be unique, it's what viewers look for!

Don't be a follower, be the MASTER and show your talent

I've noticed that Youtubers who know exactly what they are doing tend to get more attention. Sure we like to sometimes see people who just make nice videos but you have to just have the talent. If your naturally at specific things like comedy, gaming, speaking etc then you can inspire other people and not just follow other Youtubers. You have to be someone who other people want to be like. If you have a talent or even a skill in something show the world, it's worth seeing!

Yeah ideas for videos comes naturally if you just know what your doing otherwise you ma struggle and honestly I can't just give you a to do list because those are my ideas not yours. You can make anything you like it's up to you! If you think you have a good idea for a video do it! You never know if it will get a million views right? Hope this guide thing kinda helped you ^_^



 
This is a great thread, the only way you can actually stand out on a YouTube channel is to be creative. To many people are trying to do what other people are doing, and most of those people have no clue what they are getting themselves into. A lot of people think that they are going to launch a channel and make money, yes any one can launch a channel, but if they don't work hard to succeed then they will fail. It's great to be different and creative! You never know what might happen!
 
Man I swear you make some amazing post. This sounds exactly like what I've told people so many times except formatted much better (since I tend to ramble on alot when I type) I really wish more people would try to be unique instead of following the crowd of sheep, sheep are boring, be a WOLF!

Thank you I try my best and yeah I hope all Youtubers will be unique ^_^

I totally agree with you. That's why now in my newer videos I try to be a different as possible and yet give out some kind of useful info. If I can't think of an unique idea to sideline my main topic I don't put it up.

For example, In the video that's displayed in my signature, I show one way to hold a drill. But most people already know how to do that. That's why I added the crazy camel.
 
Hmm, after a while every youtuber falls into a category so not everyone can be unique, unless you can think outside of the box or have some type of crazy talents.

One good way to be unique is to show show your true character in your videos because everybody is unique in their own way.
