How to be successful on YouTube is a lot of the reason why I come to this forum. I also come because of the comradery and friends I have met here. This is a great site with great youtubers! Do you post videos every day like vlogs and such or video game videos and wonder why they only get 5-20 views in a week? You have tried posting to facebook, twitter and other sites hoping to generate some buzz and nothing is working? You think "oh that video sucks no one must like it" . This is not the case at all. Some of the suckiest videos on YouTube have tons of views. Why? Well small fish like us have to work hard to get views which means you have to do the work. The three most important things to do to get more views is:
1. A good title for your video. Base your title on what you think people are going to search for like "dogs with a wide angle lense or epic fall from ladder" whatever it maybe but make it catchy and stand out. A crappy title is like "vlog day 12" "what i did today" . I admit I am also guilty of crappy titles I have videos titled " diet vlog day 2" and such.
2. A description and not a one liner goes a long way. Especially in search engines. Try to put as many kewords as you can. Make your description at least a paragraph. The more the better. And put backlinks in the description to your channel. People that put no description you can forget about anyone finding your video.
3. Tags! Lots and lots of tags! Make them relevant to your video as well. if you are talking about school put your schools name in the tags. Take advantage and use as many as you can. Try to put a tag that includes words from your title and description.
A good combo of these three things will get you ranked in google searchs which increases views and also will put you with related videos that will actually get you views.
Like I said if you put in the effort the rewards will be great. Don't count on people randomly finding your videos. Get them to come there with tags, description and title thats what it is there for.
So with that "no more one line descriptions or none at all and lots of tags"
