How many Tb worth of videos are on youtube?

How many terrabytes of videos are on youtube do you think? How does youtube cope? And they can't infinatley expand their storage can they?

Yeah I don't think you could quantify the data on YouTube in terabytes even under 15 figures at this point.

Technically, if they have the physical space to store the hard drives then yes it is possible to infinately expand their storage

I think they're only in Petabytes because of the compression and removal of old accounts

but the google servers are so expansive that they will never run out :L

My latest videos are close to a gig each alone, so I can't imagine how much Youtube takes up.

Just imagine what it costs to keep it all running. That is massive. And I bet they have all sorts of redundancies built in as well to keep from loosing data due to HDD failure and such.

They keep each piece of data on 2 servers and another copy of more 'important' data on digital tapes
