How long does it take you to record, edit and upload a single video?

For me it takes around 4 hours to complete all of the above, and quite frankly I wish I could speed it up a little more! Maybe get it down to 2 hours or something.

So what about you? How long does it take you to record, edit, and upload a single video to YouTube?

Does it frustrate you?

My videos probably overall (and if I’m in a really productive mood) take about 3 hours to complete. That includes me having to set up the camera and everything too.

My animations on the other hand can take anywhere from one day to two weeks to complete...but I much prefer making those to the videos.

Woah! you're very committed x The worst thing about this is, I once took 5 hours to complete a single video and during the processing on my PC, it had a complete fit and lost all of my work :( x

I feel that pain. Whenever my work takes long it’s because my camera or computer decides today is not the day and footage is erased or adobe crashes for the 100th time.

I prepare a video for atleast a half hour, record for roughly another half hour, and editing takes me about 4 hours.

So right now, each video is taking me about 5 hours from start to finish. I would really like to become more efficient though.

Edit: Oh, you mentioned time for uploading as well. My internet fluctuates and sometimes it takes a couple hours, and sometimes it takes about ten hours. All depends I guess.

Depending on the amount of editing required, anywhere from 2-11 hours. When I had a channel doing media reviews, I would have heavily edited stuff happening on screen during every second of the video. Usually visual gags, but sometimes gameplay/movie video with FX to spice it up. When those 11-hour editing sessions got too stressful to put up with, I streamlined my process. However, once I did this, I realized that I wasn't satisfied with the results, and continued to streamline things until I just got bored of the channel altogether.

My gaming videos now take 3-6 hours to finish. Most of that time is spent going through 3+ hours of footage and clipping 10+ minute segments to ultimately meme-up or splice together in a comedic fashion, though.

RENDERING THOUGH.

OH BOY, I SURE LOVE WHEN SONY VEGAS CRASHES 4+ TIMES TRYING TO RENDER SOMETHING FOR 3 HOURS.

I mostly takes me several hours on several days, so I can't really name a number. I made some travel videos and if you're gone for 2 weeks you get a lot of footage. So going trough it and picking out shots takes a lot of time. Then putting it together, maybe do some slight color corrections, suddenly come up with a new idea and switch footage or put i in a different order, cutting it again is also taking forever sometimes haha.
Uploading is not a big deal i'll do that overnight, so it's finished the next day.

As long as I'm happy with the video, I don't care how long it took to do it.

It really depends on the video. If it’s a review I can probably finish in like 2 hours. If it’s a super heavy vfx skit, it can take me like 3 weeks.

Our "simple" (1-3 cameras) videos take between 3-6 hours to edit.. Our more "produced" videos (8-12 cameras) can take upwards of 10-12 hours per day for 5-6 days.
