How Long Does It Take For Thumbnails To Update

I tried my hand at making some custom thumbnails and seeing how it turns out
I keep trying to update the thumbnail and it takes forever for it to update
Any help? Or does anyone know how long it takes to update?

Many members are having THUMBNAIL problems since yesterday! I think its a bug and YouTube will fix it!
Apart from that make sure that you clear your browser's cache

It usually updates immediately for me. The longest it has ever taken in about 30 minutes.

If your video isn't live it should be instant. If it is it could take hours. That's why I upload the video, and the thumbnail before putting mine live.

For me, it ranges from 1 hour to an entire week for a thumbnail to update.

Sometimes immediately! But I've had thumbnails take as long as a whole day to update.

Make sure you clear your browser cache, it saves your old thumbnails in there to load faster so it will never update for you (everyone else will see it update, though)

Usually go to the browser settings. If you're using Chrome, go Browser Settings --> Show Advanced Settings --> Privacy --> Clear Browsing Data. I'm sure the other browsers go about it similarly.

This is more or less the same with me. If I forget to upload a custom thumbnail before I publish a video, it usually takes about half an hour at most to update once I do upload it.
