How does Youtube channel trailer work?

If I add a trailer to my channel, it says that the video will only be shown to people who are not yet subscribers. Does that mean that my subscribers won't be able to see the video at all, even if they search for it? Will it still be available to my subscribers if they go into my list of videos?

yes, unless you list it as private, it will still show in your list of videos and will be searchable. The only difference between it, and all your other videos is that it gets displayed as your channel trailer.

No, anyone will be able to see it.
It's just that non-subscribers will see it on the front page of your channel, while subscribers will see whatever else you put there

the idea of it is to have a "intro" video right there for people who are first time visitors. The video will be searchable and in any playlist/part of your uploads no matter what.

I don't have a "highlight reel" video, but rather I rotate videos based on which are popular and if I'm targeting any specific group.
