Just go for it, man. The special prep you take should be knowing that the people subbed to you like you enough to want your content, no matter what it is.
 
I pretty much just look quickly at my subscription feed and realize how many people are uploading new videos besides me....that usually gets me going, plus I enjoy making them
 
My channel is about photoshop, I photoshop a lot in my free time so sometimes when I feel like starting a cool project I might aswell film it.
 
How do I get motivated?

For me, I guess I just have a bit of an inherent "workaholic" personality trait...my mind is constantly thinking about new ideas (especially as an amateur screenwriter as well writing scripts for my friend's short films on top of writing for my Youtube channel)

That and I guess I also see the world from a "comedian's perspective", so a lot of things give me inspiration. Constant inspiration for me also comes with constant motivation. Also, I'm driven by my dream of perhaps working for Hollywood one day doing what I enjoy, which is entertaining people, so I always keep that in my head :)
