How do you record sound with a wireless mic on your smart phone?

Hello everyone. I'd really appreciate your help understanding how to connect a wireless microphone to a smart phone. I was searching for a cam recorder in a store then a staff recommended that I should use my phone because people use that rather than cameras now a days. I asked her if I could connect a wireless microphone to it and she told me yes but I might need to install a certain recording app.

I'm trying to do pranks and social experiments. So I'd like to have a hidden small microphone which can not only record my sound but the surrounding sounds. Eager to get my You tube channel started, I bought the LG 5 phone. Which is best for it's camera. I even found a mono pod online.

I went to a camera store searching for a wireless microphone. Fortunately when I found one, the manager was nice enough to let me test it. I went on my camera, connected the transmitter to the phone and turned on the mic. The manager was talking on the microphone while I was recording and slowly backing away to test it. Unfortunately when I played the video, the phone didn't get anything he was saying.

He recommended that I purchase a camera but I already payed so much for this phone, which I can't return. Is there a certain recording app available, which can record what sounds the microphone picks up? Also will it be able to record the same way I can record on regular camera mode on my phone? Just want to know if I'd be able to keep the HD and the wide lens mode. Thank you very much!

Uhm I'm not to knowledgeable on this but when I tried recording with a wireless mic most of the apps I bought to record could only do mono with a wireless mic. Needless to say it sounded awful, so I would just suggest getting a lavaliere mic.

That's the mic I tested it with, the lavaliere mic. I guess I need to purchase a camera?
