Request How do you make thumbnails like this.....

Hi,

When YouTubers are recording a video do you think they pose for the thumbnail whilst the camera is still recording and then print screen it for a thumbnail?

How has Alfie made his thumbnails? What font has he used and how has he made that effect where is dark under the text?

It looks like he has highlighted the text and taken a snapshot from inside his video editing software/printed the screen. He most likely made them in photoshop.
 
Most likely these were staged photos, they took the time to pose for the photo and then snapped it, at least for half of those photos they look like they were staged.

For the font, I can't really tell what that is off the top of my head, I'm not the best with fonts. You can check out DaFont.com for some free fonts to use for your channel, just make sure under "search" you check the "100% free box."

And last but not least, the dark box is simply a rectangle shape made in a photo editing software that had its opacity turned down quite a bit so it's see-through.
 
I've seen other youtibers vlogs like dose of fousey and he would be like "oh this would be a great thumbnail" and he would stand for 3 seconds
 
Use photoshop if you want to pay for image editing software, otherwise GIMP is a good alternative I've found. Also, be original with your thumbnails, don't go around copying other people's fonts and trying to recreate what they have, you can be more effective by being unique.
