How do you make a banner for your channel?

I have tried uplaoding a couple custom pictures for my banner but none of them are the right size! How do you make them fit youtubes standard?

Crop your image to YouTubes standard size for banners, thats what i did with my banner ..

I open up Photoshop, make a new file with youtube's recommended dimensions, put a new layer down with the youtube layout, set it to 50% opacity, and then get to work.

ya had the same problem as you nothing looked right, wasn't what you wanted and if it was it just didn't size right, so i started making my own channel art and I've become really addicted to it, if you want i could try and make you one! wouldn't be much trouble just send me a msg or something... good luck with your channel talk to you later

YouTube's banner is 2560x1440.
Use a template to see where you should put your banner's content.

banner size that fits is 2560 x 423 , then you need to create your background with whatever writing fonts ect , then open up a new image in PS/GIMP that is 2560 x 1440 and just open the background you already did as a layer ontop of that , this saves all your measurements and such and is the easiest way to make backgrounds fit to perfection
