How Do you feel about Elgato Capture Card Software?

BlueStreakcomms

Loving YTtalk
In my opinion the software is just ok . The main thing it lacks is the option to seperate audio from the video (game) and microphone audio.

Hey man, I use my elgato daily. I think the software, for what it is. is great, Its simple. easy to use, it does have great features( like the live comm. and the live stream) I do agree that being able to have separate settings for Audio and video would be great.

Im guessing you are a gamer? only say this because i am myself.

If you are doing commentaries, you can always record your voice in a different software, with an external mic.(I use my Iphone5 headset, and it actually has OK sound.) That way you have a full range of things you can do with your voice(i.e cutting parts out)

Also you can change you volume levels of the Capture sound, and the live comm sound(separately) so that may help.

There is always room for improvement, and you should sent feedback to Elgato, And maybe if enough people feel the same way they could make changes. The Software is free, and does update. just not very often.

"if it aint broke, dont fix it"

I love my elgato and use it daily as well. I think the software is the best game capture card software out there. If needing to seperate audio, as mentioned above, use different software.

I bought the Elgato to record gameplay and that's what it does and it does extremely well. It would be nice if it could separate the audio but Audacity is more robust anyway, so I'll take the time to sync my audio and video. And I LOVE the DVR feature.

Syncing The Audio, and Video is the hardest part of using a separate program to record with.

The Capture Software is great IMO, like i said, VERY simple to use, Took me 5-10 minutes to figure out, after downloaded and using it.

I find myself bouncing back and forth between the live comm feature, and separate audio programs, depending on what kind of commentary/voice over i am doing.

It's because of that i dont really want to do it.

Then....i wouldnt be complaining. If you do the right kind of "sound tests", its not hard to sync your audio with the video.

if you dont want to do that (which would be the best way to get what you wanted) you really shouldnt be complaining that the feature isnt in the elgato software.....because if you have a separate audio track, like you want in the software, there are the chances that it could get out of sync anyway. Then you would have to fix it...just saying...

But at the same time I have to question why isnt that feature in the software itself , prorgrams like Dxtory and Fraps got this down with no prob. Im quite the perfectoionist when working on videos , so syncing up audio will drive me insane.
