How do you decide what to post?

I've Got It
I've been having a dilemma lately where I have an idea of what I want to post, but also want to try and catch the wave of a trending topic to drive views. Quick background, on my channel I do this thing called "Let's Talk" where I go over subjects I find interesting or that are trending the world today (at least that's the premise of it, we are only 3 vids in >.< haha).

There are topics I want to make videos on, but I don't know if they will necessarily be looked for. I know YouTube should be about making the content YOU want, but when is that too narrow?

Love to hear your guys' thoughts!

I would just try to stick too a few different subject or topics. On my channel we do about 3 or four types of shows or series. But we try to get a new one up from those shows or series every week. This I feel builds a viewer base around those topic or subjects that grows over time.

You're still new. Create any video you can think of. You won't know what will catch on until you actually have content for it. In the end, if you perfect your delivery and content, the topic doesn't really matter. Your goal is to try to make people come to watch YOU.
