How do you all loosen up before a video?

I might get a bit of the "How could you" type of reaction from saying this. But for me when I started out I wasn't really myself as well. "Dgamewiz" for a long time was just a persona, a mask I'd put on in my videos. I did this 'cause I kinda hated myself back in the day. But then I learned about what this person called "A life hack." What they brought up in the little speech they had was the saying "Fake it till you make it." But to sum up what they said in a TLDR way. They said, "Don't fake it till you make it. Fake it till you become it." So that's what I did. I started to bring my persona in real life. So they more I did it the more I become it, and the more comfortable I become when making my videos.

TLDR: Just keep doing it, and you'll get better and more relaxed when making videos.

I always feel so tense, and not myself while recording a video. I feel like a completely different person as soon as I hit that "record" button. I've been having this issue ever since I started recording and I thought since I'm new here that I could get some help from YTtalk community.
A good run clears my mind.... A few beers also helps. I don't talk a lot in my videos, so I don't really have to get loose to shoot most of mine. I used to be shy to speak to crowds of people, but as I got older and had to be a leader in the military, it became almost second nature and enjoyable. Try speaking to groups of people or something, it will get you used to that feeling of being watched by eyes. Get used to interacting with crowds or groups of people, after a while it gets easier for some people. Some people are just naturally shy though...

Relax, take a deep breath, get your ideas in order and focus on the main points you really wanna cover, get into character... hit record. let the magic happen.

i like to think of it as when you press that record button noone sees you then.. ur not on TV if u wont like it u dont have to show it and it helps knowing that and lets you get more loose more funny more being yourself.

If you're nervous, maybe you're doing something that isn't natural for you. I'm not talking about stage fright. I'm talking about people who try emulate somebody else. Just be yourself so that it comes out naturally. Viewers are drawn to authenticity!
