how do i make designs

you know how pewdiepie and you-tubers have pictures around their channel and their own pictures for their thumbnails. how do i do that my channel is crooked mac can you give me some advice
 
You have to be allowed to use custom thumbnails first, but then you just create a thumbnail with a software such as PhotoShop. It's easy.
 
Yeah just photoshopping things and what not, there is also free programs such as Gimp that are more simple and once again free
