How do i know when im partnered?!

I was simply wondering what happens with the partnering process, i know what you get from it just not how it comes around. Do you get a message from Youtube? Do you have to apply yourself? Would be grateful if someone filled me in

You have to send youtube a message with that you want your account linked to the new network. They will give you info on how to do this.
