How Do I Include an Equalizer in a Video?

Hey guys,

not entirely sure where to put this, but after watching videos from YouTube accounts such as 'MonsterCat' and 'BlueLakeEDM' it's easy to see that they include an equalizer in the video that shows the beats/drops etc. of the song playing. My editing software is Vegas 12 and I just want to ask if anyone knows how to do that :)

Thanks in advance,

I am not aware that you can do it in sony vegas, but I know there are many audio programs out there that are capable. I don't use sony vegas myself but usually video editors don't tend to have a huge range of audio editing options :)

EDIT: this might be what you're looking for? :)

They use a program such as Adobe After Effects that can animate objects using audio. So for example, rectangles can be set to lengthen when the specified audio increases in volume.
