How do I do this effect in Avid Media Composer?

There's an effect I'd really like to do with the text in my video where it's almost like it's a window to another shot.
It's like the colour of the text is a video instead of a colour, I think it's really pretty and I was shown how to do it but I've completely forgotten how.
Someone teach me? :)
Thanks :giggle:
Also, which is better, Avid Media Composer or Adobe Premiere Pro?

Well can you do a screen shot of what you are wanting.. I think I know what you are asking but I want to be sure. You are going to want to turn your Text into a Matte and then put the other shot with in the matte.
As far as which is better they are both great programs. They both will get the job done.
I own both Avid and Premiere
The way I see it.. they are just tools, and I am the artist.

I own them both too, they're just sitting there on the desktop shouting 'pick me! pick me!' which is why I asked :p WHO DO I PICK?! D: Inner turmoil.
Anyway! I'll try that matte thing, thank you :)

Well to let you know most post houses and production places now use both.. ever since Final Cut switched to X a lot of places went back to AVID and or moved to Premier.. They are both great programs.. I just say use the one you feel the most comfortable with.
