How did you manage to get followers on Twitter?

For the life of me I have no clue how to get followers on Twitter. I'm pretty sure all of my Tweets are just flying off into some dark empty void never to be seen again . Do you just keep sending off Tweets with the hopes that someone will eventually stumble upon it and follow you? Do you just spam follow other people with the hopes that they will follow you back? I somehow doubt that mentioning it on my YouTube channel is going to help much given my limited traffic so far.

I admit Twitter is a mystery to me- maybe because I would never use it otherwise (Honestly, I don't really see the point of it).

Yea I think I'll set up a Facebook companion to my channel this weekend... Hopefully that does a little better. Even then I'm not sure how to get people to notice it without spamming your friends.

I have no clue. I want to say it was because of my awesome tweets, but.... Maybe it was the hashtags. It's all about the hashtags.

Twitter works better for me than Facebook, but I'm getting followers on Google Plus now too. I simply put the links to my social media pages in my descriptions and in the banner links bit on my channel.
