How can you stick to a schdule when you have undeveloped ideas?

I Love YTtalk
I have a whole bunch of ideas, but I don't really know how to go about them yet. I'm not sure how I can stick to a schedule with that being an issue. Should I develop some kind of series so I always have a consistent thing to put out when my other ideas are basically floating around? What's the key?

Ok you got a bunch of ideas right? Make a list and pick out your top favorites. Then go into detail on how you want each one to look and be. Then go out and film those suckas! If you want to do a series, it makes things a lot more streamlined but that's only if that's what you are really wanting to do. Don't do it just cuz of the views. Do it cuz you really enjoy it.

Like said above, write them down and keep them for later. You will notice as you get further, more and more ideas will be coming and sometimes you can combine them, so writing them down, is the most important. Don't start something that's not thought out, as you will regret later that you did not take more time for it and could have done it better. Pick the first one or two and work them out in detail. Give yourself a deadline if you really want to have a schedule. Say: every week, I'm going to work out one idea and film it :) Hope this helps.

The series idea works really well for me. I love to have a structure to fall back on. When I have more complicated or half-baked ideas, they can be put to the side to work out later, but I can always do something simple within the three series I have going on my channel.

However, if you don't want to go that route, you can always just take an element of one of your ideas and work on that little element for the video that's scheduled. So if your idea requires a number of locations and other people, you could choose just one location and point the camera at yourself and cover just a little bit of it.

Don't let thinking get in the way of doing. Overthinking can totally kill momentum.

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH! lol My brain will just put up this big brick wall that I can't climb over to write a script or go more in depth! It's poop because I have a long list, and some I don't know how I'm going to go about them. It's like :banghead:[DOUBLEPOST=1461384051,1461383897][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yeah that's true. I don't want to put something out that I rushed to happen when it didn't just come organically. I actually had recorded something for a few hours and scrapped the whole thing because I HATED IT. So yeah that is completely right[DOUBLEPOST=1461384183][/DOUBLEPOST]

I'm definitely and over-thinker. It really gets in the way :(

If you're an over-thinker, then maybe you just have to take a leap of faith and randomly start working on one idea. See if this works for you, try it out. I know that when most people start focussing on one thing (with a deadline), they suddenly get much more inspired and creative with this idea.
Write out your idea, get the camera and start filming. Randomly talk to the camera and after some time, you suddenly start noticing that you start talking constantly about this or that. Your mind will take you somewhere. Maybe you can delete that whole tape, but hopefully at the end of it, you have a concrete idea of what you want to do.

Overthinking often goes to 'Never ever posting anything'. I know, I've had the same before and if I had not, I probably would have started my channel 5 years ago. Know that a video will never be completely perfect, but it can be good. And most often, it's the little imperfections that makes you human and the viewers love to see that. I would advise: Try out different ways of working and you'll find the one that fits you ;)
