How can I make sure no one will copyright my videos

Unknown_user0001

I Love YTtalk
I uploaded a video and realized I had not put my name on it. Now I am worried if some one might take it and keep the credit for themselves. How can I get around this?

If they're gonna take it, they're gonna take it. Name on it or not. lol

Best thing to do is watch for it to show up somewhere it isn't supposed to be... and if it does, flag it and file a DMCA complaint.

I know but if it had my name on it it wouldn't really bother me as people would know they are not the original uploaders. No name = they can take all the credit they want.

True.

I guess, for me personally, it doesn't matter if a name is on it or not. Stealing is stealing, and it should always be met with a take-down by the original content owner.

True

I noticed some big youtubers have a competition every month and this seems like a good idea. If anyone reports a copyrighted video of theirs to them. Their name gets put in a hat and a name is picked out every month and the winner will get a t-shirt or something. < Not a bad idea

That is a rather neat idea!

For the smaller folk like me, it's all about being vigilant. When I found my first video that had been stolen, I was quite surprised. It was one I never expected to be lifted.
