how can I get the highest quality mp3 of my song on to youtube?

it always sounds so muffled and over-compressed when I do it through camtasia

You Use Camtasia to record the mp3?
I'd recommend audacity for anything audio, and a proper Video editing software for making it into a video. Fraps can also record the same way as Camtasia if I got things right, though uncompressed, so it takes up a whole lot of space, but doesn't cut down quality.

no I make the mp3 in fl studios and I put it in camtasia while I edit to post my music.
but it is never up to par with some of the stuff other people post and I know I can make it sound better I just need to find out how.

Well, when you upload it are you then selecting the highest quality video to test how it sounds or you mean the video that comes out of Camtasia before being uploaded sounds muddy.
