I Love YTtalk
I love to create and tinker. I'm also cheap so I wanted to see what kind of light stand I could build out of scrap wood that I have from previous projects. Everything pictured, I already had.
The clamp lights can be found at any hardware store and even Walmart from $7-$12. I have been using them for a year or two so I had them already.
A reverse angle of the base. I used 2X4's for weight but I can still put sand bags or even gallon jugs of water for stability. The green clamps were $1 each at Harbor Freight. These pictured are extras.
The vertical piece of plywood is screwed to a vertical 1 X 1 1/2. The green clamps are used to clamp a small piece of plywood so that I can adjust the height of my lights.
In this rever view, I changed the angle to have one light higher than the other. You can also see an electrical plug strip for all of my lights. This way, I just flip the switch on the plug strip to turn on all of the lights.
If I want more lights, just add another piece of plywood =)
I'm really pleased with the flexibility and the small footprint (base).
I will probably build another one for some of my larger track reviews.
