Hidden iMovie Features?!

Hey All! I have used iMovie to edit all of my videos so far,
and I only just found out that you can add a video on top of another video (for use in outros and such)

For those few people who still use iMovie, are there any other hidden features that Im not aware of?

iMovie lets you add one single PIP effect - this has always been possible from earlier versions of iMovie. Many people missed it since you need to enable the advanced editing menu in order to get the more advanced options.

iMove is a great program, but I made the switch due to the lacking effects. The PIP effect for instance - you can only add 1 at any one time. If you want more you have to export the clip and re-import with the PIP intact, then add a second etc.
The major turn-off for me was the export - iMovie didn't handle darker areas and shading too well on export, causing banding and pixelation. This was a common issue and the Apple forum had a huge thread from users demanding a fix from Apple!

Im not sure if the latest version just released fixes this issue, but it certainly adds more features to an otherwise pretty strong editor.

Oh I totally agree with the dark areas becoming pixelated. However, I try to keep my videos as light as possible so that is not such a big issue (yet)
Im curious, what program did you switch to?
Thanks for the response btw!

Made the leap to Final Cut Pro X - not too difficult to learn after working with iMovie as they have made it look quite similar ;)
I know many hated the new look, but personally I love it!

Is it free or ya gotta pay for it?

£200 I believe.
Although you can get it cheaper if your smart and spend some time buying vouchers cheaper then their face value from eBay, then redeeming them for it ;) I think I ended up paying about £120 for it in the end. A great investment!

I think I might just stick with iMovie lol
