hey.. im wondering what i would need to do to be able to become monotized or even partnered.. the mainthing i want at the moment is custom thumbnails.. i heard you have to be menotized so if anyone knows how i can achieve this please help??? thanks
 
just go to your channel settings and then click on the tab 'features' then click enable monetisation and voila :) eventually you will have the custom thumbnails option unlocked :)

Source : me (only uploaded one video so far and have custom thumbnails :)

ok i just enabled it and now i dont understand what its telling me about making money and getting rights for content.. does this mean i have to have permission to use anything i havent made myself.. if so how do i get rights to use and how do i make money lol ????

yeah, anything which you us which you havent made yourself you will need permission to use (by asking the owners of the copyright) and for the money you need to make an adsense account and then connect it to your YouTube one :) but just monetise one of your own videos that you have made and then after awhile, check back on your features and you the option to have custom thumbnails should be enabled :) then just remove the monetisation afterwards if your prefer not to have it on :)

what dimensions do i need for a thubnail.. and if a video is monetised does that mean if i had a linked ad sense then i would make money from that video... but if its isnt menotized then it wont generate profit?? i hope im not being too much of a pain

1280 x 720 px.

If you want to receive revenue from your video(s) then yes you will need to create and link an AdSense account.
 
Don't go for youtube partnership, just get more views/day and apply for some kind of network and you'll get all what you want.
