Anyone any tips for me I have only been doing this a few months but I am struggling to get over 20 views per video and my video retention is poor. With 2 subcribe.

I am not so narrow minded that I thought I would have 100 subscribers and getting 1000+ views, but the fact the video retention is so bad and everyone I have spoke to said that my channel is good and will obviously improve overtime.

Any tips? Or am I just being impatient?
 
You only have 8 videos right now so don't worry about it. But you should brand your entire channel with fancy thumbnails, new banner, and a new icon. That should defiantly draw the attention of viewers more because most viewers are use to fancy channels like pewdiepie's thumbnails and etc. So you need to look professional because at this point your channel is most likely turning potential subscribers away.

I think you are just being impatient :)
 
I would say focus of content and quality as those are two of the most important aspects of videos in my opinion but just keep up with doing the work and it will come in time.
 
You've got a few videos up, so your channel wouldn't get like 20 views immediately. (YouTube has grown and is the largest video website on the internet, so finding your videos, and your channel would be a difficult task).

However, to gain attention you should make your channel your own. Your channel should look professional, but also look like you. Your thumbnails should be customized rather than being straight up images from your video (I started customizing my thumbnails again and they DO make a difference). Your icon doesn't really tell anyone anything about you or your channel, besides that you play video games. You should have a mascot as your icon, a drawing, or letters from your name. However you want to make it.

Be patient, channels grow slowly.
 
Thank you for all you help I am currently in the process of changing this like you have suggested on the up side I just had my first 200+ video so I am pleased with that
