Hey guy, I've been quiet for a while but back on this site now. I like it here. Anyway, I have started doing a new series, It will be up soonish and it is indiemon, a pokemon clone.

So the problem is, I am using my roxio to capture it but the file size is huge, 15gb for 10-15 mins before edit. I was wondering what format I should export to? what software? etc.

Also, I currently use my headset as my mic, is it worth buying a propper microphone? If so, how much will it set me back?

I apologise if spelling is bad. I am on my iPhone.

Thanks for the help!

Fraps usually records huge files for me so I just either convert them to .h264 then .flv with a high bitrate (maxed) when I'm ready to upload to You Tube.
As far as converting goes, I use Adobe Media Encoder and have presets set up.

I tried to use a headset mic but I always got a hissing sound so I just picked up an Audio Technica ATR2100 usb mic for $54.01 on Amazon, I love it. I record my audio using Adobe Sound Booth and do any tweaks need before exporting for editing.

If you want to see the final result, look up Philly Phil Games on You Tube. Hope this helped.
