Help needed (About stolen video)

Hello YTTalk, this is the first ever time someone has stolen my video and has re-uploaded it onto their channel and wanted your help. I tried to file in a copyright infringement for stolen video, but then comes onto the legal jargon. I have no affiliation to the game I am promoting (Just a fan boy) so would Youtube do anything about it?

And I don't really want to link the stolen video else it could get more views which I don't want. But if you do want to see it then type "Lyrania" into youtube search and the stolen one is the 3rd one down.

So will YouTube do anything about it if i'm nothing to do with the game, yet I recorded all the footage (As my game name on their is Kangaroo)

youtube should be abe to do something like ban the account or delete the video from that person's channel.
you can always inbox the person and tell him to delete it because it's your video and they didn't get your permission.

I have a hunch on who it is (Within the game) as I tracked them down with the URL and with the Youtube name (Bit of google research) and chatted to them and they deny any acknowledge of the video. So, looks like it would be up to Youtube then?

Correct me if I am wrong and I'll refrain from any legalese...

You uploaded a video using content that you don't own a copyright to (bad boy =P) and someone in turn uploaded "your" content to their channel (bad boy/girl =P).

Since at best it was never supposed to be there, if they took any action it would probably be to ban both accounts.

As both of you are probably just hobbyist (non-partnered/non-commercial accounts) I am not seeing the harm done. It's kinda like being in grammar school and telling the teacher some kids looking at your answers during some rote and inconsequential exercise. At best, it's rude and bad form.

Now if you were a major work-horse for YT say like Smosh and this happened, it would probably be dealt with in a matter of minutes...

Yes this is correct i think... YT don't care the account who don't have own copyrights or original content..
 
Unless you have a partnership, I doubt it, since yeah you are also doing something that is illegal (though youtube turns a blind eye to it if you have commentary). You only have full ownership of gaming videos if you are a partner.
 
If you upload videos frequently most likely other videos on your channel are somewhere else online. You should really start putting your channel name in your video and not some annotation. Also speaking at random parts should help.
 
Yup, just flag the video and claim that they posted your content. They'll take it down in a few days.
