Hi there. I do top 10 lists, fact videos, historical stuff and other educational things. They all go under education and entertainment and is targeted towards people who genuinely want to learn more about the world around them and are curious. Could I have some help developing a Niche please? What would be a good target market right now. Or is it not overly important for the channel I have. Thanks guys!

Right now I would say gaming is a really hot topic. But, you do top 10 lists and loads more! Run with it, do a video on anything and everything and get viewer from all categories. Sure, you will get viewers from different topics, but, they will more than likely have subscribed because they want to learn, they find these top 10s interesting.
I know I personally don't care what the topic is when I watch a top 10. If it's something I don't know a lot about and the title/thumbnail gets my attention I will watch it.

If you do end up having videos on different topics and you find it cluttered you could always make a range on playlists upon what you already have - gaming, history, science, cultural etc.

I keep mentioning lists / facts only because I personally feel like these get the most attention. A lot of viewer have short attention spans now and fact videos / lists are quick, informative and interesting - they always keep my engaged for sure.
Also theres endless possibilities.

I would focus on particular topic, since we already have top10s on youtube. History is for choice.

Love it. The look is great. You got a new sub . I even commented on your WWI vid. Keep it up. I cast a vote of general knowledge after looking around your channel it seems that you have top tens in many ares which is good! More people can connect if the content is new news and something different than what they already know.

Honestly there's not one clear answer to this because you're current niche of top 10 videos is already a very general area. Sure you could focus on gaming perhaps, but why limit yourself? The reason top 10 channels tend to get so much attention is because either they have a lot of personality and stand out because of this (like Matt Santoro), or they cover every topic, genre, and search result possible so wherever you look, they're there (Like WatchMojo).

With what to do it on, you just got to go with what's hot currently. The gaming industry may be a good option for this because new games are always being made and the fans are always in anticipation of the next game in series, but then again it's the same with movies.

Just imo, I think top 10 is a niche itself and you shouldn't really restrict yourself to one genre if you're doing top 10 videos. If I had to pick only a few, I'd say general knowledge, gaming, and movies/film would be the profitable areas to be covering.

Hope that maybe helps even somewhat,
- Joel
