Yeah. There's definitely a lot more going on in the background that isn't youtube's fault. I got a total of 35k views this month, don't monetize all of my views, and still made more than ten dollars. The article is misleading at most and whining about something that should have been looked more into.
 
Yeah it all depends what content ,keywords ,demographic,age restricted..etc...So Yeah i call the BS post..If all youtubers will have such small earnings no one will ever doing it...Thats a fact...

It'd be discouraging for people who are solely out to make money on YouTube alone. If that is someone's goals, they need to rethink what they wanna do.
 
Aren't clicks more important than viewing the video? I I've gotten over a thousand views in the last week, and less than fifty cents.

I don't think it's a good thing to say it. Everyone in it for different reason. You can't just tell people to rethink whatever they do because they want to make money. It's like hey rethink about your full time job because you're in it for the money?! Don't do it.

I think it's a good incentive for everyone!
