Have you ever...

paid to advertise your channel through Google Promote?

I had a friend in the advertising business suggest this to me and I'd like to hear if others have tried it and what their experiences were.

Did it generate a decent amount of traffic to your channel?
Were the views in line with what google say? For example, it is saying if I dump 5-20USD on a video, I might generate 1000-5000 views. I'm not sure if I should take this with a grain of salt or not.

Honestly considering testing the waters a bit but I'm sure there have been a few others already who wouldn't mind sharing their experience.

Thank you!

All the best,

Philli

first time you do it, youtube gives you a free 75 dollars if you spend 25, ive never done it but i thought it would be worth mentioning

It can be helpful if you already are making steady progress by virtue of your content alone. It's not a quick fix if your channel is stalled really, because that generally means you need to keep improving your content and marketing game in other ways first. That's what I'm experiencing a bit right now. Improving the quality of what we produce first and learning how to reach the largest organic audience possible, then when I'm more established and am actually making a small amount of revenue I might consider putting that towards some paid marketing.

I never really advertised my channel are I'm not planning to do so anytime soon...If big Youtubers like Pewdiepie can grow without ads so can we

Did you see that video about why he was able to dominate so well? It's fun to see how he was able to do it, being international helped for him
