Has One Channel made channel views plummet?

Recently, most youtubers have been complaining that peoples views on videos don't get as many as they used to do. Someone said they used to get 25k views a month on one of their videos now since they switched it gets 3k a month. Why is this??

The thing that annoys me the most is the fact that on every small channel there is a 'Popular' channel feed (Used to be called Similar Channels but then people realised that it was only popular) That tab is taking the shine off small channels. But why do these big channels need any more exposure, they are already making the big bucks for YouTube, and nearly everyone knows about them! Personally if I owned YouTube I would put smaller channels in the spotlight more because if YouTube focused on the big channels too much, then where will the next generation of channels be?

I'd focus on both if I was incharge so I have the big guns out there doing their stuff and raising my own "next generation" while I am at it. Something similar has been done in history but lets not talk about Nazi Germany right now
