Growing A Small Channel

Hey everyone it's Isaaac :) I'm here wondering if some of you bigger people have some tips to grow a small channel? I just recently hit 10 subs (yay!) and I was wondering, what is a great way to help my small channel grow? And also if anyone would like to collab?
 
Growing your channel to 100 subs is difficult. All of your initial subs will be friends and family.
What I did first was first make my content next make a video you can showcase to people such as a montage or maybe a really good video you made try to make it 1min-5mins.

Next go on a social media network that you use often such as facebook. Make a personal mass message that has a link to your showcase video, mentions why you have a youtube channel, your aim, and ask if they like your content or want to support you to like your page and sub. I sent a message to everyone that was on my friends list it's better than a status because it's a guaranteed view.

You must share it with people you know or people you befriend online because no one is going to see your work.

If you're afraid of that because it's too personal you should rethink why you're making a youtube channel. You should be proud of your work and willing to share it despite possible criticism. If you don't want to share your channel and just want to do it as a hobby, then views and subs should be the least of your concerns.

Hey Isaac! I am a bit begin you in subscribers. From what everyone here says, it's all about patience, consistency, and networking. The weird thing is only two or three of my friends actually subscribed, which forced me to hustle a bit!

I like your channel a ton. Subscribed! :)
 
I agree with the sentiment of others - the first 10-20 subs are the hardest. Best tips I can give:

- keep the videos short (3-7mins) as people are wary of investing time in new content providers
- aim for consistency, be that release schedule, content etc
- start finding and engaging with others on social media....share, share, share
- respond to any comment you get.
- research your tags to get your video more visablilty.
- ask a question, promote people to engage in your content
- have fun! this comes through in your videos more than you could ever imagine.
 
There are a ton of great resources on this site in this section or in the articles and resources section. I read a ton of the posts on here and did what the people told me. I am not big by any means, but I recommend just checking out the other threads on this site to find some great information :)
