Green screen color spill

Ok so i did my homework and followed instructions step by step, i am five feet away from my screen with my camera five feet away from me, i have cowboy softbox lights (three of them) at specified distances and angles, but i still have color spill. If i adjust the "closeness" or "similarity" or "blend" any higher, the chroma key prnetrates my body on my hair and shirt. Any suggestions?

Your color spill is most likely the result of green light reflecting back onto you. So you if you have dark fabric like blankets/sheets, try hanging them on the side walls (ceiling too if it's still bad) to cut down on the reflection.

Thanks for the reply, i put muslin cotton sheets (black to absorb more color) on either side of me, but strangely it seemed to make it worse!

Im actually not sure lol i don't know too much about fabric. Is there any way i can tell? They do not appear reflective, even when viewing from an angle.

Ok well perhaps i can try buying another set of sheets, but perhaps thinner to allo light to simply pass through it onto the walls, does that sound like it will work? Unfortunatly yesterdays video shoot turned out horrible, babies crying, color spill, hard to get into character lol but the only issue that cant be avoided is the color spill :( i spent hours looking the information up, and i have tried all the remedys the best i can, but i am also working with limited space (about a 12x12 room). Will the thin sheets possibly resolve my issue or will it be a wasted investment?

I don't think thin sheets would help that much. With a room that small, you might have too much power in the lights. You could try going to a lower power bulb, but before you do that, try messing with the angle of your main lights and make the angle more shallow (less than 45 degrees offset from you) to minimize the side reflections and see if that helps. Moving further away from the screen may help as well.

Try a bigger seperation from the background, and make sure your subject lighting is relatively close to you. It will give you a better cutout when you key out the green. You can also try a stronger backlight, though that can give the video a "fake" look. If none of that helps, try diffusing your greenscreen lighting a bit more so it is not so bright. That should help keep any reflection off of you. Muslin is not supposed to reflect, but with bright lighting, anything will reflect.
