I am kinda confused how to do this.
so could you guys reccomend me some ways to do this.
I want all my data and files, video games, music, just everything.

I really hope you guys can help me find a way! thanks.

note: they are both hp computers, one windows 7, the newest one is windows 8 (which is terrible)

The best way is prob just to get an external hard drive big eonugh to fir all your files and drop them onto it and move them over to your new PC, as for programs you will need the orinigal installation files for them to work, but in most cases you will prob have to re-download programs :/ And window 8 actually has some new feature I would say go to 8.1 ASAP and you will see a lot of good feature, but I personally just stick to the desktop version cause the tablet looking surface isint really usable unless your on well a tablet!:p Once again just get an external HDD and have fun :L

That would be the only way to get all your files back to be honest, reinstall everything im afraid noooooooooooooooooooooo the torture of the word! its painful to say!

Step 1. Put the items you want to transfer into a couple folders.

Step 2.
Upload the folders to Google Drive (you have 15GB of space for free automatically)

Step 3.
Use your new PC/Mac to downloaded the folders from Google Drive.

It's time consuming, but completely free....well, if you have less than 15GB of files you want to transfer at one time.

I just want absolutely everything to be transferred over. their is no way just to do that? can I bring it in and do that?

it's impossible for me to reinstall everything.

If you have any CD's lying around you can copy some programs to that, or set zip folders up and email them to your email

You will still have to install everyting on the new pc, as when you install programs it adds files all over the place such as registry files and stuff. To be able to transfer stuff over without having to reinstall anything you would have to find every single file installed from all areas of the pc and transfer them over putting them in the correct folders. That would be almost impossible as there are many hidden ones aswell. It doesn't take long to install everything once you get into it especially if the new pc is quicker.

Steam will be fine as everything is on steam, the installation files etc. Only thing you may have to copy over is the save files as I'm not sure they are saved onto steam aswell as the computer

No way you can just transfer over everything, Doesnt work like that unless you bought a samsung ssd which has data migration.
Your going to have to setup a dropbox, google drive or skydrive, Then transfer them there. Or you could buy an external HDD.
Your steam games will be fine, youll just have to reinstall them on that particular PC.
