Google+ keeps reverting to personal page

So this has been a problem I've had with Google+ day 1. Basically if I'm signed into my YouTube account which is connected to a G+ page, I'm able to click the page button to take me directly to my G+ page. But if I click a Google+ link in a video description, it takes me to the page using my G+ profile, I then have to manually go and search for the page using my page and it usually doesn't help when the page I'm searching for is small. Anyone know if you can disable your G+ Profile without disabling your G+ Page?

I think I know what you're asking for, but not 100% sure.

I had a similar issue when I was trying to join G+ hangouts / communities etc. It would default to trying to sign me via my personal account rather than my G+ page account, if you see what I mean.

The solution was:

Log into Google+ (not YouTube) using your unique G+ page login and password. To know what the userid and password is, go to your G+ page settings page and scroll down to where it says "third party tools". That weird-looking email address is the username and you might have to create a password for it just below it (if you haven't already done so).

If you login to G+ with that username and password, it will default to your G+ page (and not your profile) whenever you're trying to do something on G+


Sorry if that sounds confusing, but G+ is confusing!

Okay, I'll try that out, I didn't use the 3rd party password because I didn't think it was needed since I was using another Gmail, hopefully that helps.[DOUBLEPOST=1387169270,1387168979][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh wow thanks, it seems to have worked but does this mean I need to sign in using this username and password everytime I want to use YouTube and follow links to G+ via YouTube? :S[DOUBLEPOST=1387169329][/DOUBLEPOST]And it says upgrade to a Gmail to get a custom username, should I do that? It really is confusing because Google is like playing with a bomb now, I'm worried it will delete things it's not meant to.[DOUBLEPOST=1387169571][/DOUBLEPOST]Okay damn, looks like I need to sign into G+ using that username, but now I can't switch to my Gmail -.- I swear to god, some people accept things too easy, G+ is more hassle than it's worth sometimes. haha

If your YT username / password manages several G+ accounts and/or YT channels, then yeah it defaults to the G+ profile one rather than the G+ page one when you try to "do stuff" on G+ and yeah it's a pain in the a**. If I know I want to join a community or hangout on G+ through my Crown channel, then I login with that weird username and password, otherwise I just login with my "normal" YT username.

I'm not sure about the custom Gmail thing. I'm not brave enough to try that lol

I shall give that a try, as this is something that has been frustrating me too, especially since I am now starting to use G+ to get myself exposed.
