Starting today you can find key moments within videos and get to the information you’re looking for faster, with help from content creators. When you search for things like how-to videos that have multiple steps, or long videos like speeches or a documentary, Search will provide links to key moments within the video, based on timestamps provided by content creators. You’ll be able to easily scan to see whether a video has what you’re looking for, and find the relevant section of the content. For people who use screen readers, this change also makes video content more accessible.

Thanks for killing my watch time YouTube!

Yeah, that was my reaction too. It's a sign of the times that people don't have the patience / concentration levels to watch a short video from start to finish without skipping bits.

As a creator, I'm not sure I'll be enabling this feature. ^^

I'm definitely enabling this for my tutorials!! People have a hard time learning a song in one sitting, so they like to come back later to learn the second part of a song. I used to do something similar to this with annotations. Yes, the watch time went down, but it provided more value, which I think made people come back to those tutorials more than some other tutorials...

Yeah, I used to do it in the description with timestamps (that become clickable when published) but I kind of got bored of doing it lol. ^^

Yeah, I do that, too, but it's definitely a pain in the butt to write those out...lol!
