Good recording software?

What is a good recording software that I can use with the hd pvr thats free? I feel like totalmedia extreme is not the best anymore.
 
Have you checked Hauppauge's website for an updated capture software?

The Arcsoft Showbiz that came with my HD PVR 2 is total garbage. Fortunately, Hauppauge ended up releasing a completely new software for it several months later.

Been happy with it since.
 
I use open broadcaster software, but I'm not sure if it supports hdpvr video feed, it works with my roxio and when i record pc games though

Perhaps they've updated it to work.

I haven't had such luck with OBS and HD PVRs. But I haven't tried in a long while, might be worth a shot.

Well I noticed in the latest version I have that there is a "Game Capture" option so I assumed that PVR's would be their intended medium for recording. I don't know. :confused:

Oh, game capture just horks up a red screen.

Video capture device might work nowadays though.
 
As mentioned a hundred times already in threads titled the exact same as this, OBS is a good free/outstanding choice.
