Good microphone

Posting Mad!
Hi guys,
I am looking for a new camera, but until I will buy one, I will stick with my Panasonic TZ18 Lumix for a while. Although the video quality is ok for me the sound isn`t because the mic is located on top of the camera. What should I do in order to improve my sound quality ? I thought about going on an external mic, but I don`t now much about those types of mics. I am looking for something to work with my camera, but it doesn`t have a mic jack. :( Would you guys please help me ? Thanks !

If you want to use an external mic you will have to get a camera with a jack for it if not you could record audio separately and sync it up but that can get very tedious

I use a Blu Yetti Mic. it is probably one of the best USB mics on the market right now. it runs about 120-140$(US), but i picked up mine for 100$ at guitar center when it was on sale. If you dont have that kind of money, you can look into the Blu SnoBall. Its a pretty decent mic, it doesnt have as many options, and the video quality isnt as good ad the yetti, but it will get the job done better than just the mic on your camera. Both are really easy to use, but if you get one, i'd recommend getting a pop filter, and a Mic stand for the yetti. The yetti comes with one, but you can pick a mic boom for like 30$ and it was probably one of the best investments i've made.
But thats just my 2 cents.

yes this is a very good mic and i have one of these but i think he wants one that is used in conjunction with a video camera, not via a pc

Hmmm.... if thats the case.... Ermmm, if you look on new egg or amazon or something, im sure you can find shirt clip mics that you'd be able to use if thats what you're looking for. I've seen those sort of mics go pretty cheap with decent results. I think the best course of action is to look online and try and find a decently priced one, that'll do what you want it too.

My cam doesn't have a mic jack and it isn't possible for me to use the yeti mic if I film outside for example. I thought about a separate mic without any connection but I think it will be kind of bad to add the sound separately to the video. :(

In that case your only real option is to get a video camera that does support an external microphone. There isn't really anything else we can suggest sorry :(
