I've Got It
Hey guys...
I have just started a gaming channel and I want some video editing software but have no clue what is good and what is not. it has to around 30 bucks. I use FRAPS to record and would use WMM to record myself if that makes a difference. I mainly want the editing software to let me put pics in the video, put the video of myself in the video of the gameplay and maybe have some audio editing options as well. I have audacity but that wont let me mess with the audio in a video file. or at least idk how to yet. if you have any suggestions as to how I can make audacity let me edit video sound I would really appreciate it. also any suggestions as to what video editing software I should get?

There really not a "good" quality video editor, that's cheap; however, when I started out, I used windows movie maker to edit, its free. It allowed me to cut the video down and had a few affects. There are some decent free editing programs out there, but they are not as simplistic as some of the more expensive ones, at least from past experience. I think LightWorks is still free and is probably the best editor out there in the free section. Once I got more viewers, I stepped up to Sony Vegas Pro 12.

my number one production rule:
GO BIG OR GO HOME!
if you have access to a mac then go straight bee line for final cut pro X
if you are on a pc go sttraaight for avid… yes it might cost you a few thousand but its worth it… lol
im told adobe premier pro is a very good video tool… maybe get that for your videos…. but at the end of the day-there is no point wielding a mighty weapon if you arent strong enough to pull the trigger… in other words-you need to learn to use the product to its full extent so you can work fast and efficiently-any software worth its salt should let you do everything you have requested
